Frozen Pitches – Sat 04 Feb 2012
With temperatures forecast to fall to a low of -6c in the Mytchett area on Friday night there is a strong possibility of matches being cancelled on Saturday due to frozen pitches.
Surrey Heath Borough Council’s Greenspace Team Leader will be inspecting Frimley Lodge Park at about 08.30/09.00am and will alert the Fixtures Secretary (Graham Goddard) if they consider the surface unsafe to play football.
The Managers of the U11 Eagles and U7 Kestrels who are due to play at Frimley Lodge Park also have contact details for the Greenspace Team Leader.
Two U8s matches are scheduled for Harpers Road Playing Fields. The pitch passed an inspection by one of the coaches this morning and at this stage the game is on.
All matches will be subject to final inspections on Saturday morning.

U8 EAGLES: Following two pitch inspections today, the decision has been made to call off tomorrows fixture against Hook United U8 Jaguars. This decision will also affect the U8 Falcons match against Hook Unite U8 Tigers.
Under 8′s Falcons vs Hook United Under 8′s Tigers
We intend to play our fixture at Harpers Road, And will inspect the pitch around 11am Saturday.
U8 Kestrels match away to Aldershot B&G Warriors Reds has been cancelled.
Having looked at the weather forecast and considering the safety of all concerned, it was decided to cancel the under 7′s game vs Hartley Wintney due to be played at Frimley Lodge tomorrow. The under 7′s away fixture at Crookham Rovers has also been cancelled.
Both U8′s Games at Harpers Road have been cancelled against Hook United due to the low temperatures tonight (-7 degrees) and the fact that maximum temperatures are due to only reach 1-2 degrees by midday. In addition, the extended cold period has resulted in the pitches not defrosting during the day. Although disappointed, this decision has been made with the best interests for the safety of the children.
The U11 Eagles match against Fleet Spurs at Frimley Lodge has been called off due to unsafe playing conditions.
Saturday 4th February U13 kestrels match v Sandhurst Town at Bellew Rd postponed due to frozen pitch.
