U13 Kestrels 24 Sep 2011

The Kestrels played at home today. The first half started badly for Mytchett with the first 3 goals being scored within the first 5 minutes when Curley Park saw gaps in the defence and were able to finish the ball off well.

Despite Daniel and Matthew working hard at the back, Curley Park were fast and able to get past the defence, notching up another couple of goals. Joe came off injured, and Chris W replaced him. Jac had a go at goal, as did Harry following some nice passing between Chris G and Jac. But the first half ended with Mytchett being 5-0 down.

The second half started better: Harry had a good run with the ball, and passed to Chris G who scored a great goal! Jac and Alex continued pressure at the front, but the ball couldn’t be finished off. Curley Park were awarded two penalties for some careless Mytchett tackling: one went too far right, but the other was perfectly struck making the score 6-1.

Mytchett picked their game up in the last few minutes: Ben fought well on the left hand side; Chris W and Luke worked well in defence. We were awarded a penalty too, but it went wide. The glimmers of hope in the second half were outweighed by some great Curley Park passing, and the final score was 8-1.
