Doug Lucock, Life Vice President at Mytchett Athletic FC, was yesterday involved in a serious car accident near Pirbright. Doug was air-lifted to Southampton hospital where he is in intensive care.

Just got back from visiting dad and he is still being held in an induced coma. His main injuries are to his chest area and there has been improvement since the incident. Fingers crossed but he has a long way to go. Thank you all for your wishes and concern

Update on dad. He is now off of life support and everything seems to be working ok. Still in I.C.U but nearer to being placed on a general ward. As you all know, he’s a tough ol’ bugger and hopefully he’ll be back in Mytchett soon!
We wish Doug a very speedy recovery. Our thoughts are with him and his family and will be “When Saturday Comes” ….C’MON DOUG !

Unfortunately dad had a setback and still remains in intensive care. However, there were signs of improvement again tonight. Thanks for your support which I am sure he appreciates, as do we.
I remember when I was young doug coming down to training and saying I’ll give you a pound if you can clear the half way line, never managed it through!! I was lucky to spend a lot of time in his and his families company over the years and my daughter is his great grandaughter . He is a wonderful man and I hope and pray he makes a full recovery…
Grandad is slowly recovering, he is still in Southampton but will be back on home turf back to Frimley Park hopefully in the next week, he is being very mischievous and busy chatting the nurses up, still a long way to go but a little smile when we told him the support he has, he liked the ‘when Saturday comes’ message! – thank you again the support is much appreciated.

dad now transferred to frimley park where he continues to make progress. Long recovery path ahead of him but i am sure he will get there. He’s moaning a lot so thats something!!!!
A message to inform everybody that dad ( doug) is ready to leave hospital and will be returning home on Tuesday, 11th. Anybody wishing to visit him after his return, please feel free to do so. He will love the company.
