As the world battles the Coronavirus pandemic we wanted to provide you with an update on behalf of the Executive Committee at Mytchett Athletic FC.
At this time grassroots football remains under lockdown. Public health and safety remains the top priority right now, and we are monitoring announcements from central government and The FA. Our local youth league, the NEHYL, will shortly be outlining plans for the conclusion of the 2019/20 season and the start of next season. We will share this information as soon as it’s available.
Naturally we have been unable to hold our annual tournament this year, and we have no plans to reschedule this in 2020. Sadly we are not yet able to meet for training sessions, but when this is allowed again we will make provision via the Team Managers. But it has been inspiring to see the ways teams, coaches, players and parents have been keeping in contact via social media and video conferencing. Some of the skills training and quizzes that we have seen are great for team spirit.
As is normal at this time of the year we are holding our AGM. Normally this would be at The Mytchett Centre, but this year we will be holding this online. The date is Tuesday 14th July 2020 from 7.30pm. Full details of how to join will be circulated nearer the time.
This year, more than ever, we are appealing for help in running the club. We have a number of key roles to fill.
Assistants to help our Exec Committee members
- Assistant CWO
- Assistant Treasurer
- Assistant Secretary
- Fixtures Secretary
- Kit Manager
- Player Registration Officer in Each Age Group
During the lockdown period we are still working away in the background to manage our finances and plan for the future.
This is a financially challenging time for everyone, and to protect our club’s future we will be asking everyone with outstanding fees from the 2019/20 season to please settle your account. We appreciate these tricky times so do contact us if you are struggling with fees so we can work out how best to help you. Speak with your team manager in the first instance.
As a club we are doing everything possible to make sure we survive in the current climate, so that we will still be around when we are finally able to play football again.
We wish all our families the very best of health and we look forward to welcoming you back to our football pitches one day soon.
